Alan Camp Partner RIBA
Alan Camp comes from a seafaring family near Gravesend, Kent; he decided at an early age to become an architect. He studied at King's School in Rochester, and went on to obtain a first class honours diploma in architecture at the Canterbury School of Art.
Following academic research into colonial modernism and traditional building of West Africa, Alan helped found and run the School of Architecture at the University of Ife, for three years. Upon returning to the UK in the early 1980's, he helped found Avery Associates with Brian Avery. In 1984, he joined with Francis Machin to form Machin Camp Architects; the company then became Alan Camp Architects in 1992.
Alan lives in Walworth, south-east London with his wife, the sculptor Sokari Douglas Camp CBE, and their two children. He is a keen cook and avid supporter of Arsenal Football Club
Alex Wythe Partner RIBA
Alex trained at Brighton University, where he also completed a post graduate diploma in Interior Design in addition to his architectural qualifications. He is a registered architect and has been working for Alan Camp Architects for over a decade on projects ranging from single houses and restaurants, to £10m+ residential and regeneration schemes.
Alex has extensive managerial and practical experience of the residential sector and has been involved in the construction of several large mixed use schemes to date.
Simon Camp Partner RIBA
Simon studied at Canterbury and South Bank University, where he specialised in detail and urban design. Whilst studying for his post graduate diploma, he was awarded the Richard Davis Memorial Award for his design, presentation and studio works; he concluded his studies at the Architectural Association. Having worked within the practice for over a decade, Simon has developed a specialism for backland sites in both urban and rural settings
Gurj Bahra Partner RIBA
Gurj joined Alan Camp Architects in 2005. In addition to work for private developers and house builders, he has been responsible for delivering to completion over £120m of affordable housing for registered social landlords, including ASRA Housing Group, London and Quadrant Group, Hexagon Housing Association, Metropolitan Housing Trust and Gallions Housing Association.
Anna King Practice / Finance Manager
Anna joined Alan Camp Architects in 2003 as Alan's PA her role has now progressed to Practice Manager, she is responsible for the financial management of the practice as well as Human Resources and general office management. Her previous working experience has included , ECD Architects, Comber and Co estate Agent, Caroline Cooper Interiors and James Johnston Property agents.
Sarah Simpson Associate RIBA
Sarah studied at Cardiff University before completing her qualification at the University of Westminster. Sarah has been instrumental in the delivery of a number of mixed use schemes which include, Dog Kennel Hill Primary School. More recently she has worked at planning stage on housing association projects and larger private sector residential schemes.
Piotr Lutz Associate ARB
After graduating from The University of Technology, Department of Architecture in Wroclaw and postgraduate studies at Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Piotr gained his architectural qualifications. Piotr worked on variety of schemes ranging from luxury interiors to large-scale hypermarkets in Poland prior to his works in the UK. Piotr joined Alan Camp Architects in 2006 after three years at Andrew Scott Associates in north London. His works focus mainly on residential and mixed use schemes. Piotr’s key housing and mixed-use projects for Alan Camp Architects include:Eltham Baths, Mast Pond Wharf, Rockingham Street, Park View Road
Agata Grabowska Associate ARB
Agata studied Architecture and Urban Planning in Bialystok University in Poland. Her graduation project Sport- Exhibition Arena was awarded ‘Dissertation of 2005’ by a Transport & Construction Minister. Agata moved to UK in 2006 and was involved in a program of restoration and refurbishment of listed buildings in Portman Estate Conservation Area. Agata joined the practice in 2008.She has worked on various mixed use schemes with private and affordable residential accommodation, from Feasibility through Planning and Construction stages to Practical Completion.
Paul Gendle Associate RIBA
After completing his Diploma in Architecture at Brighton University, Paul joined Alan Camp Architects in 1998 and left in 2007, before returning in 2013. Paul has extensive experience of the residential sector as the designer of a wide variety of private, mixed-tenure and social residential schemes. This has encompassed individual houses, stand alone blocks, residential-led mixed-use and large-scale master planning. Paul is experienced in all stages of the architectural process, from feasibility through planning and design intent, to construction and detailing packages.
Chris Ayling Associate
Chris graduated with Distinction from his Masters in Architecture at the University of Kent. During and following his Part II completion, he worked to further his knowledge with small/medium scale residential projects across London and the Southeast. Throughout his time in practice and university career he has used his technical and methodical mindset on a variety of projects around the globe including: high end residential, commercial, retail, mixed-use and master-planning.
Ronald Ros Associate RIBA
Ronald has two years of practical experience and graduated with a Merit from his Master in Architecture following the completion of his RIBA Part 1 and 2 both of which were focused on innovative and sustainable design, through the use of technology. Apart from architecture/ design he has also got a technical/ construction education background. Throughout his time in practice and university career he has worked on a variety of projects, these includes both built and conceptual projects in a number of sectors, including; residential, retail, education, healthcare, leisure, mixed-use and master-planning.
Joe Donovan Chartered Architectural Technologist
Joe studied at Nottingham Trent University, achieving a first class honours in Architectural technology, with this his experience of working on site has developed his skills and given him a different perspective on design. He has worked on a variety of projects from residential to commercial through to mixed use and retail.
David Willmoth Architect RIBA
David studied at the North London University between 1983 and 1988 and completed his architectural professional studies in 1988. David has over 25 years post qualification experience in the private sector having previously worked in medium sized commercial practices for Wintersgill LLP, MCL, and Keith Hiley Associates. David is a talented “All-Rounder”, with skills in project management, client briefing, design, construction detailing, technical knowledge, contract administration and historic building conservation and planning, encompassing most of the duties of an Architect. David joined Alan Camp Architects in 2013 and is typically involved in projects from detail design stage to completion.
Nevber Öztürk Architect RIBA
Nevber joined Alan Camp Architects in 2014 as a Part II Architect following her graduation from the University of Nottingham. During her degree, Nevber was a member of the architecture society committee, which was responsible for organising a lecture series and events throughout the year. She is currently working towards gaining her Part III qualification and is responsible for coordinating the practice’s continuing professional development. At ACA she has worked on several large developments at the appraisal stage.
Stephen Lam Architect RIBA
Stephen studied at De Montfort University for Part I and II, before completing his formal architectural education at Kingston University in 2016. Before joining Alan Camp Architects in 2013, he has worked in various types of projects in the UK – ranging from private residential to large retail commercial and creative competition entries.
Carlos Dos Santos Architect RIBA
Carlos is into his fourth year of part 2 practical experience with intention to embark on RIBA part 3 in the coming year. He completed diploma with distinction from Kingston university and was nominated for the RIBA Silver Medal submission for both his project and dissertation. Carlos has spent part of his practical experience working abroad in Mauritius where he gained a broad-base of experience on projects of differing scale from one-off houses, to large scale residential and educational developments. Apart from architecture, his first degree was in fine art and worked as a sculptor in London for 7 years before returning to study to pursue a new career in architecture.
Agnieszka Trojan Architect
Agnieszka studied Architecture and Urban Planning in Technical University of Lodz in Poland, achieving Master Degree in Architecture.
Since 2007 she been gaining experience from Planning through Construction to Practical Completion working on various residential led mixed use schemes including private and affordable accommodation as well as single family houses and interior design.
Agnieszka rejoined the practice in 2013.
She has been involved with delivering and coordination of working drawings packages.
Anthony Kong Architect RIBA
Anthony has both practical experience both from Hong Kong and China and graduated from University of Nottingham with both RIBA Part 1, MEng (Environmental Design) and MArch with RIBA part 2. University of Nottingham provided him with a diverse and sustainable design as his foundation and with his previous multi-cultural working experience.
Chris Holden BIM Manager / Architect RIBA
Chris studied at the University of Nottingham and London Southbank University to gain his RIBA Part III and has ten years’ experience working on small to medium scale social housing developments across the Midlands. He then applied his computer skills working on virtual reality research and education projects for leading Universities around the world before completing an MSc in Building Information Modelling at the University of Wolverhampton, a short spell at the Building Research Establishment working alongside some of the UK’s leading authorities in BIM, and joining ACA in 2015.
Tommaso Roventini Architect
Tommaso graduated at the University of Florence with a MA specialising in Design of Architecture in 2013, which included a year of education at FAUP (Faculty Architecture University of Porto).
His graduation project was a refurbishment of a Medieval Tower Calafuria and conversion to new cultural space for the local artists. During his studies he worked in Italy for different offices on variety of projects including mixed-used, residential, retail and interior design. After graduation, he travelled to New York to gain further design experience at Sergiomannino Studio. In 2014, he was officially qualified to exercise the title of Architect in Italy. He join Alan Camp Architects in 2015 to broaden his experience.
Monika Bochynska Part I Architectural Assistant
Monika completed her BA Hons degree at the University of Kent. During the course of her degree she was part of Article 25 charity as well as a member of the architectural student association committee, where she was working on organising variety of events throughout the year. Having huge interest in residential and mixed-used architecture, Monika joined Alan Camp Architects to widen her experience before continuing with her part II study.
Alex Baciu Architectural Assistant Part I
Alex graduated from University of Portsmouth in 2015. During his course was selected by University Project Office to use his technical and creative skills for community projects and was awarded by RIBA members for the most sustainable design project for Wymering Manor (oldest house in Portsmouth first recorded in 1042).
Sustainability and technological advancement are key-points to his focus in the coming stages of his professional career. He has worked on a variety of projects from residential, regeneration, mixed use to bridge design, one example is a bridge across Thames near London which offer access to a grade I listed Hotel on Monkey Island.
Pavlina Ellina Part II Architectural Assistant
Pavlina joined Alan Camp Architects in 2017. Pavlina graduated from the University of Cyprus with a B.Sc. in Architecture and a post graduate diploma of Architect-Engineer, achieving first class degrees. When she relocated to the UK in 2014, Pavlina has worked on small and medium scaled residential schemes throughout London.
Helen Keegan Architectural Assistant Part II
Helen studied her part I at the University of Portsmouth, where her final year project was an urban masterplan which explored principles for both architectural and urban sustainability. Having previously gained professional experience working for a contractor, Helen has a good grounding and practical knowledge of residential schemes and has rejoined the practice after gaining her Part II
Patrycja Miś Part II Architectural Assistant
Patrycja graduated from Poznan University of Technology (Poland) with Master’s Degree Diploma in Architecture and Urban Planning which include one semester of Erasmus exchange program at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Viseu , Portugal).
After working in architecture and construction offices in Poland she decided to move to Portugal to get her experience in different architecture environments.
In 2016 she moved to London working for variety of projects including residential, hospitality, education, commercial and interior design. ‘
Daryll Brown Part II Architectural Assistant
Daryll studied BSc Architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. His degree projects held great interest in community building environments and the proliferation of the arts, earning him his first commercial design project for ITV Studios during his third year. Daryll joined the practice in 2014, now working on various large mixed use schemes with private and affordable residential accommodation within his home city of London. His work has focused largely on the Marketing, Detailed Proposals and Construction to Practical Completion development stages.
Joanna Zbiciak Part II Architectural Assistant
Joanna graduated from Bialystok University of Technology (Poland) with Master’s Degree Diploma in Architecture. Whilst studying she got involved in projects with local Army Museum, creating 3D models and visualisations of exhibits.
Before joining Alan Camp Architects in 2017, she gained an experience in several offices in London and Poland, working on variety of projects including flood resilient houses, hospitality, medical facility and interior design.
Whilst completing her Master's Degree Diploma in Architecture and Urban Planning at the Univeristy of Trieste (Italy), Laura joined ACA in 2017 to gain and improve her practical experience.
During her undergraduate study period she participated for two semesters to the Erasmus program at the École Nationale Supérieure d’architecture of Strasbourg (France) to confront a different approach to architecture. More recently developed a project with local community (Gorizia –Italy), concluded with a public showing. After that, interested to explore what was on the other side of the Channel, she get to London to discover a whole new architectural environment.
Matt Harrall Architectural Assistant Part II
Matt graduated from the University of Kent in 2017, completing his masters with distinction and ending over 5 years of education in Canterbury. His thesis project titled ‘Ministry of Entasis’ proposed a fantastical world and reimagined the Old Bailey in an act of brutalist architectural violence.
He has worked in a variety of offices and has over two years Part I experience specialising in contemporary residential schemes from extensions to new builds, and has moved to London to build on this experience with bigger projects in the city.
Frank Wood Architectural Assistant Part I
Frank graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2017 and is interested in innovative and contemporary design. He has gained exciting industry experience and dabbled in recruitment. His aim is to gain experience and develop his potential working at Alan Camp Architects.
Faye Harvey Senior Administrator
Faye joined Alan Camp Architects in June 2019 as a Senior Administrator. Faye has extensive experience within Public Relations whilst assisting a team of 25. After spending two years at a private secondary school, Faye joined Alan Camp Architects for a new challenge in assiting the practice.
Abigail McCay Architect RIBA
Abby studied Architecture at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle before completing her Part 3 studies at the University of Nottingham. During this time she has worked on a variety of projects ranging from initial design to construction and completion within a number of sectors including; residential, retail, education and healthcare. Recently her design focus has been on Offsite Construction and integration, completing large education and residential projects with the use of Modern Methods of Construction
Team Alex Planning and Construction
Team Alex works main on urban developments through the planning process. These have included tall, high density and permitted develpment schemes. The team is formed of experience staff that have an in depth knowledge of all the latest design standards required to deliver high quality design solutions.

Team Simon has traditionally looked at the small trickier, and schemes outside of central London. The team is formed of experience staff that can develop the scheme through all of the RIBA Workstages to ensure continuity through some of the schemes.

Team Gurj have an experienced track record of delivering large scale housing of both schemes that we have designed and by other Architects to award winning standards. The delivery of these schemes has led to partnering agreements with large scale construction companies.
